Pop's Opens on Route 66!

Years in the making, the iconic Pop's is now a reality. Pop's is the creation
of Aubrey McLendon, head of Chesapeake Energy here in Oklahoma City,
and designed by Rand Elliott.

A 100ft cantiveler covers futuristic gas pumps for weary travelers on the
mother road. Inside they can have a great burger, milkshake, even a steak..
Best of all it's the only place on the planet earth you can select from nearly
500 flavors of soda pop. They have nearly 50 varieties of root beer alone!

What the architect refers to as the "Smile" is a record breaking 66ft tall
Pop Bottle sculpture right by the mother road, beckoning travelers at night with it's 16million color lighting system by none other than....Color Kinetics.

This is no convenience store! This is a destination, an icon, a work of art.

Ponca City Memorial Fountain:

This groundbreaking fountain was both featured on Color Kinetics website and in
their upcoming annual publication "The Color Manifesto"

Forrest Mertz, president of Mertz Corporation in Ponca City donated all materials and
labor to renovate this fountain as a gift to the city. Forrest's father did the same
for the city the last time the fountain was renovated back in 1980.

At that time, Smith Lighting provided 36 250watt incandescent submersibles that had red, green and blue colored lenses for color mixing abilities.

This time around we turned to Color Kinetics brand new CSplash2, a revolutionary
fountain lighting instrument that is capable of 16 million colors with no gels or moving
parts and no lamps to maintain EVER! This new version of the company's submersible
offering utilizes the new Luxeon LED emitter package from Phillips Lighting's Lumileds division.

We took this fountain from over 11,000 watts to less than 600 while eliminating maintenance altogether. Best of all, now the fountain displays a beautiful succession of colors not possible before.
